October 16th was my tenth anniversary as a published author. The Prince's Consort was first published on that day in 2015, and I can still remember the nerves and excitement I felt. I was at a New Jersey Romance Writers conference that day, surrounded by my fellow authors who shared in my happiness and attending workshops that distracted me a bit from my nerves. I wanted to write something profound to mark the day—because it feels big!—but my brain does not want to come up with something profound. I still needed to mark the day here, though.
So, ten years since my first book. At the time, I had so many hopes and dreams for my writing career. And in the years since, there have been ups and downs, challenges and unexpected changes. There have also been ten more books, fun events, new author friends, the joys of meeting readers old and new in person and virtually. I still have so many hopes and dreams for my writing career, and though right now writing is more challenging, I still wouldn't want to do anything else.
I'm so grateful for and to all my readers and everyone who has supported me in this journey. Thanks for reading!
