We're getting to the end of the Trans Rights Readathon, which started March 21st and goes through Trans Day of Visibility, March 31st, but I thought those participating might still be looking for some books and really, we all should read trans books all year long anyway. So I'm sharing a list of trans books I've enjoyed. These are all books with trans main characters but are not necessarily by trans authors, and they are all really good—I've probably recommended at least some of them before. I'm also going to share my books with trans characters in case anyone is interested in my fantasy romances, though I am not a trans author.

The Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook asks its members to share six sentence snippets from their work each weekend. Check out the group's Facebook page to read all the snippets and add lots of great books to your TBR. You'll find all sorts of books with the common thread that the main character identifies as LGBTQ. I'm sharing snippets now from A Harmony of Fire and Earth, the second book in the Elemental Magicae duology (which should be read in order, so I'll try to keep this spoiler free—definitely start with A Dance of Water and Air though!). This series is filled with elemental magic, romance, and intrigue. The first book begins with a betrothal arranged between a prince and the queen of a neighboring country, but when he arrives, something isn't right and he ends up falling in love with her brother instead. When the prince is accused of trying to kill, the two princes go on the run, trying to save themselves and their kingdoms. Harmony picks up the story of the two princes and also introduces others who are important to their ability protect their homes and people from a growing threat. Gaz is a a reclusive Fire wielder with secrets, and Rhys is an Earth wielder and healer who has been in love with him for a long time (and keeps knitting him things). This week's snippet comes right after last week's. The Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook asks its members to share six sentence snippets from their work each weekend. February is the New Jersey Romance Writers JeRoWriMo writing challenge, so I was busily trying to write lots of words to complete the challenge (because I am extremely competitive with myself) and make as much progress toward finishing To Know a Dragon Spy as I possibly could. And I did complete the challenge and made lots of good progress, but I didn't read as much, partly because I was writing and partly because I started and put aside a few books. But I did read a few that I enjoyed and wanted to share with you.
Last Wednesday was National Tell a Fairy Tale Day, and I meant to have this post written then...but I was in the middle of a last push to finish NJ Romance Writer's JeRoWriMo writing challenge (which I did at almost the last moment). I love a good fairy tale retelling/reimagining, and I've made a list of some of my favorites. They range from pretty close to the original to modern reimaginings. I hope you find something you enjoy!
