The Traitor's Curse by Eliot Grayson (M/M fantasy romance): This is the third book in the Twilight Mages series and probably my favorite in the series so far. Lucien has been the Duke of Calatria—a dedicated and hardworking but not very well-liked duke—since his father was poisoned. When the poisoner returns, Lucien has no choice but to turn to very well-liked military commander (and Lucien's stepbrother) Benedict for protection though it irks him to no end and though Benedict wants something in return. There's an unreliable narrator, a decent amount of pining, and some court intrigue. Generally lots of fun all around. This book stands alone very well, so you can jump in here if you like but the first two books are great as well—and I'm looking forward to book four.
A Shore Thing by Joanna Lowell (Trans M/cis F historical romance): I've been wanting to read this book since it came out—and have had it in my possession since I got it for Christmas—and I'm so glad I finally read it. Kit left London and his Sisterhood of women painters behind to forge a new life in an identity that fits him better, but he seems to have lost his ability to paint along with his fellow painters. Now he runs a bike shop in Cornwall. Muriel is a widowed botanist who has come to Cornwall to find seaweed specimens and hire Kit to illustrate them for her upcoming lecture. The two end up embroiled in a wager and a bicycle race through Cornwall, bantering and falling for each other all the while. It's a delightfully fun romance that also delves into identity and friendship. There is also an adorable secondary romance. It's the fourth book in a series, but I didn't know that until after I finished it. I've added the earlier books to my overflowing TBR.
