It's weekend and time from more Rainbow Snippets. The Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook asks its members to share six sentence snippets from their work each weekend. My snippet comes from The Scholar's Heart again this weekend. Last weekend I shared a snippet of conversation between Tristan and his brother Maxen. This week, I have a snippet for you with Tristan and Etan. The night before this bit takes place, Etan saw Tristan out with another man, which made Etan jealous and upset, even though he and Tristan aren't anything to each other at this point. He'd like to forget all about it, since he sees his feelings as irrational, but Tristan confronts him and an argument follows.

Tristan face went red. Embarrassment or anger or both, Etan didn’t know. He didn’t know if he cared at this point either. “I can’t see what concern it is of yours what Leo is to me. I don’t know why you’re even asking me.”
Etan felt something snap inside himself at Tristan’s rising voice. “I shouldn’t be asking, you’re right. But you want to know why I’m asking you? This is why.”
Against all of his better judgment, which was screaming at him unheeded from some small part of his mind, he grabbed Tristan, pulled him close, and kissed him.
