Rainbow Snippet March 9-10

It's weekend, and time for more Rainbow Snippets. The Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook asks its members to share six sentence snippets from their work each weekend. A Harmony of Fire and Earth will be available everywhere on Monday, and I'm both excited and nervous, as always. I'm sharing another snippet from it today. Today's snippet follows not long after last week's. Edmund and Arden have just gotten married and are waving to the crowds gathered outside to witness the wedding of the two princes.

​They held hands and waved until the carriage arrived to take them back to the palace where they would receive well-wishers. Perhaps they could steal away for a few moments before that obligation. Edmund wanted nothing more than to be alone with Arden—he’d take a few moments if it was all he could get. As soon as the carriage door shut behind him, Arden pulled Edmund against him and pressed his lips to Edmund’s.

​Edmund gasped, and Arden pushed farther into the kiss, clutching Edmund to him for a thorough kiss. He pulled away after another moment and smiled at Edmund, putting a gentle hand to his cheek, even as his chest heaved. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t wait.”
