A Dance of Water and Air came out on Monday (yay!), and I have another snippet for you from it, this time from Arden's point of view (Hollis is Arden's sister, the queen).
The day of Prince Edmund’s arrival came too soon for Arden. He hadn’t been able to learn anything more about the man. Ciaran brought nothing back from his trip except the vague assertion that no one had heard anything objectionable about Prince Edmund. That he was a good prince, a good heir to his father and king. Arden tried to take comfort in that, but he couldn’t quite manage to calm himself. Hollis had committed herself to marrying this man in the hopes of bringing them added security. She hadn’t consulted him, something else that worried him as he’d been by her side since Father was killed. She had other advisors, of course, but he’d thought his place was with her, helping and supporting her in her rule.
