My snippets comes from The Scholar's Heart again this weekend. In last week's snippet, Etan found out that Tristan's father has arranged a marriage for him and that Tristan has agreed to it. Etan can't help trying to make sure Tristan truly wants this marriage. (Etan speaks first, Tristan second)

“Are you sure about this marriage, though?”
“I don’t see a reason not to marry her. Do you?”
The statement was a stab of pain to his gut. He had to bite back a gasp, it seemed so real, so physical. He managed to murmur something that might have been an agreement, because what else could he do?
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
