First off, The Scholar's Heart is through edits and proofreading and has a release date. May 30th is the day you'll be able to read Etan and Tristan's story! I know some of you have been waiting and asking me about them, and I hope you'll enjoy their story. The Scholar's Heart also has a cover, which I adore. Anne Cain did a beautiful job with these characters, as she has for the first two books in the series. It's so pretty, and I'm thrilled with it and sometimes I just pull it out and look at it. But I'm going to keep you waiting for the cover reveal for just a little while longer. I think you'll love it too, though. Also, The Scholar's Heart is up on Goodreads. If you'd like to add it to your shelf, you can find it here.
Second bit of news, I've finished writing the fourth Tournai book, which is tentatively titled The Sorcerer's Guardian. (Oh titles are so difficult for me!). And I submitted it to Dreamspinner this week, so all anxious waiting time has begun. This is the story of Loriot, captain of the royal guard, and Savarin, most powerful sorcerer in Tournai. These guys kind of snuck up on me and wanted a story of their own, but I'm glad they did. I enjoyed getting to know them and watching them clash a bit before they gave in to falling for each other, all while Savarin dealt with some complex, dangerous magic.
And now it's time to start something new, which is always both exciting and scary. (That blank page staring at me...) Tournai 5 is already turning around in my mind, wanting to be written, but I'm also starting something completely different. It's a contemporary romance with slight paranormal elements. I haven't written anything in a contemporary setting in years, so this is a bit of a departure in that respect, and a little strange for me. But I'm excited to see where these characters take me.
